The suffocating darkness (LP, fra Soulburn

SOULBURN was originally founded after the temporary death of the Dutch death metal legend Asphyx in the mid-nineties, as the founding members Eric Daniels (guitar) and Bob Bagchus (Drums) were searching for a new musical playground to indulge in their passion for Bathory, Venom, Celtic Frost and primeval death metal. After a demo and the best selling album "Feeding on Angels" with Wannes Gubbels (Pentacle) as singer/bass player, SOULBURN was done and seemed to be nothing more than a transition formation that led to the temporary return of Asphyx in the same line-up and the "On the Wings of Inferno" album in 2000.
SOULBURN was dead, buried, but not forgotten...

And now, 16 years after their first record, the jet black death metal fleet returns from the grave with a slightly different line up, which again is formed around Eric Daniels (Guitar) and Bob Bagchus (Drums), supported by Twan van Geel (Flesh Made Sin, Legion Of The Damned) as singer/bass player and Remco Kreft (Grand Supreme Blood Court, Nailgun Massacre, Xenomorph) as second guitarist.

SOULBURN's second studio album, "The Suffocating Darkness" unites again every strength of the band and SOULBURN definitely doesn't take any prisoners. The album was recorded by Harry Wijering (Harrow Productions), edited and mastered by Dan Swanö (Unisound Recordings) and the artwork was created by Timo Ketola and Roberto Toderico.
