Iron Maiden remained faithful to his distinctive style and released again songs having a concrete historic background on "A Matter of Life and Death", an album characterized by contemporary subjects like war and conflicts. "These Colours Don't Ru"n describes the impressions of soldiers in war zones. "Brighter Than a Thousand Suns" refers to the first atomic bomb scientists who witnessed the explosion had described as "brighter than a thousand suns".
