The band is regarded as a cultural icon, and its influence can be felt across generations of heavy music, both in the mainstream and underground. They are regarded as one of the first bands to blend old British industrial music with downtuned, primitive minimal metal, inadvertently pioneering the 'industrial metal' sound, but the band has so much more to offer than what this term expresses.
