The compelling impact of the epochal predecessor 'The Morning Never Came' in 2003 had not even slightly diminished when the Finnish sun swallowers released another new amazing album. And 'Ghosts of Loss' (originally released in 2005) offers bombastically arranged and endlessly gloomy deadly doom metal, whose boundlessly desperate atmospheres perfectly capture the mental mood of someone accidentally buried alive meters deep underground. The death-wishing emotionality that Swallow The Sun showcase here, during the day or at night, is unprecedentedly deep and overwhelming in intensity. This band simply has outstanding class.
