Halloween Ends is the final chapter of the trilogy by David Gordon Green, marking the essential return of the original director and composer John Carpenter, who, together with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, recorded the iconic, hair-raising soundtrack.

The distinctive mix of software synthesizers, analog vintage equipment, and live instruments, recorded entirely in Carpenter and Davies' studio, once again creates the characteristic sound of Halloween, which remains one of the most notable aspects of the film series.

The soundtrack was recorded scene by scene, but the album itself plays like a standalone musical piece. The overall atmosphere is filled with terror, but the album also includes some groovy moments reminiscent of Escape From New York or some of Carpenter's other danceable film scores. Exquisite and delicate ambient pieces intertwine with some of the most haunting moments of the score, yet maintaining a subtle pop sensibility. The complete work showcases three master musicians, one of whom invented the entire horror synth genre, and they have created a moody, playful, and highly listenable score that honors a legacy and carries on the decades-long work that led to this triumphant culmination.
