2 years after their last album "Stadt Der Angst" and 16 years since the band from Northern Germany was founded:
Now, the so far most ambitious album "Abalonia" will be released. Somewhere between Pegida and Hansa-Studio; Odyssey and "Husum Watt"; Turbostaat spin us a modern fairytale. Turbostaat have naturally blown up the classic punk rock format in the past. Runtimes well over 5 minutes are not uncommon for them. But what makes “Abalonia” a first for the band is the way in which the band has put story and music together. “After finding the rough story we wanted to break up the “pop formula of verse, bridge and chorus, to equip the wide range of stories with the right music”, is what Marten Ebsen, the band’s guitar player and songwriter, has to say on this topic. After preparing for one and a half years, “Abalonia” has been recorded.Turbostaat’s regular producer Moses Schneider booked the Hansa Studio in Berlin, where he once learned his trade. Control desk legend Peter Schmidt did the mixing.
