Led by singer Johanna Sadonis and influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Blue Öyster Cult, Steppenwolf, Heart, and Fleetwood Mac, LUCIFER formed in Berlin in 2014, and their Rise-Above debut 'Lucifer I' received numerous positive feedback. In 2016, this former lineup, which also included Cathedral guitarist Gaz Jennings, disbanded, and like the 'Phoenix' mentioned on 'Lucifer II,' LUCIFER experienced a rebirth – in Sweden! Sadonis found a congenial songwriting partner in Nicke Andersson (Entombed, The Hellacopters, Imperial State Electric), she moved to Stockholm, Robin Tidebrink joined as a young guitar talent, and live members Martin Nordin (guitar/Dead Lord) and Alexandr Mayr on bass are now fixed parts of the new lineup, which now presents its latest work. 'Lucifer II' is not a departure from the original sound, but simply proves to be better in every way! The songs are more compelling and driving, ranging from catchy heavy rockers like 'California Son,' atmospheric ballads ('Dreamer'), and classic doom ('Faux Pharaoh'), and the sound – recorded at Nickes The Honk Palace Studio, mixed by Ola Ersfjord (Primordial, Tribulation...) – is more dynamic, transparent, and fresh than before. The 'new' LUCIFER have the songs, the passion, and the will to emerge as an absolute sensation in 2018.
