Meheightic Spheres' by The Orb And David Gilmour was remixed under the title 'Meheightic Spheres In Colour.'

The idea for Meheightic Spheres In Colour was that Alex Paterson (founder of The Orb) could have done more with the original version, and he didn't really have the opportunity to do so because we had a philosophy of making music like the Blade Runner soundtrack and Wish You Were Here. So I asked him why we shouldn't remix it and make it into an Orb classic? And because of that, it's almost like a completely different album', says producer Youth.

The original album Meheightic Spheres, which was released in 2010, came about almost by chance. In the late spring of 2009, David Gilmour entered the studio to record the Graham Nash song 'Chicago/Change The World,' originally by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, in support of British hacker Gary McKinnon, who faced extradition to the USA. The song also featured vocals from Chrissie Hynde, Bob Geldof, and Gary himself, and the campaign was also supported by Peter Gabriel, Sting, and actress Julie Christie.

The ambient pioneers The Orb and producer Youth also supported the campaign by remixing the track and asking David Gilmour if he would contribute additional guitar parts in Youth's studio, The Dreaming Cave in Wandsworth. Youth and Orb leader Alex Paterson turned this session into two ambient suites, the 28-minute Meheightic and the 20-minute Spheres, which were released under the name Meheightic Spheres. The album was one of the first major releases to come out in a surround sound version called 3D60 Audio and remains a favorite among headphone enthusiasts.

Like the single, the proceeds from the album were donated to the Gary McKinnon campaign. In 2012, it was finally decided that McKinnon could not be extradited to the USA for human rights reasons and he faced no prosecution in the United Kingdom.
