Utmerket service
Since their celebrated 1997 debut album the riff-driven, heavy grooving instrumental songs by 'Karma To Burn' mirror almost the entire extent of rock history. Composing a song without vocals requires a special concentration on the flow of the arrangement, because there is no singer with 'Karma To Burn', who could mask allegedly weak passages. Accordingly, their tracks seem like roller coasters, which go up and down and permanently keep the suspense. The title of their current record is "Mountain Czar" and shall be understood as a winking cross reference to the stylistic assignment of the band. In the beginning, the music of the American trio was referred to as stoner rock, although none of the musicians smoked marijuana. Afterwards their style was called still desert rock, although 'Karma To Burn' aren't from the desert, but from West Virginia, a state that is also referred to as 'The Mountain State'. "So what was more obvious than looking for a term that really suits us?" smirks guitarist William Mecum!
