Threads of unknowing (LP, farget) fra Voidceremony

Coming as a Limited Edition on colored Vinyl (violet/black splatter), 'Threads of Unknowing' is the latest release from VoidCeremony. With the release of their first full-length album, 'Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel,' it became clear that VoidCeremony was treading a path that few venture on. The album showcased that death metal can be presented with the smooth, controlled chaos and fluidity of a jazz quartet, while still keeping the listener trapped in a dungeon, with low HP, no spells, and surrounded by deadly demons.

'Threads of Unknowing' is a journey that resurrects previous concepts and produces even more progressive and technical compositions. Mastermind and guitarist/vocalist Garrett Johnson, along with guitar virtuoso Phil Tougas (Atramentus, Chthe'ilist, Worm, First Fragment), share the vocals and lead guitar duties, while bass god Damon Good expertly handles both fretted and fretless bass, and drummer Charlie Koryn brings not only speed and brutality, but also a fine blend of precision and improvisation from jazz fusion. The end result is VoidCeremony and their unmistakable sound: time-melting death black fusion.

With a fitting cover image that represents the lyrical and philosophical vision of an ancient and forgotten future, VoidCeremony seems to operate in an alternative death metal timeline that was briefly presented and then abandoned for more commercial appeal. But the portal has reopened and the fusion of these boundless possibilities and directions is once again being brought forth directly.
