As the name suggests, the band Joel Hoekstra's 13 is a side project of Whitesnake's guitar player Joel Hoekstra who is also known for his work with Night Ranger, the Trans Siberian Orchestra and the show Rock Of Ages. The musicians involved in the debut album "Dying To Live" are partly the best that Classic Rock currently has to offer.

The sensational line-up is as follows:
Joel Hoekstra (WHITESNAKE) - guitar, backing vocals
Jeff Scott Soto (JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - lead vocals, backing vocals
Russell Allen (ADRENALINE MOB, SYMPHONY X) - lead vocals, backing vocals
Vinny Appice (Black SABBATH, DIO) - drums
Tony Franklin (THE FIRM, BLUE MURDER) - bass

Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION) - keyboards
